good bands, nice venue

I've seen a few shows at the Holocene. They seem to get some of the best upcoming bands, which is nice. The venue splits a large warehouse into two parts, the lounge and the stage. The venue splits a large warehouse into two parts, the lounge and the stage. The lounge area has many seats and comfy chairs spread across a pretty large space, so you can chill out. You can't see the music from here, but a projection of the band on the wall is a nice touch. The bar has mix of cheap beer, regular beer, mixed drinks.. normal fare, normal prices.

The stage/viewing area isn't too large, and can get pretty crowded when some of the more popular bands play, but for the most part there's a good spot to be had. Also with the music being able to spread through the high ceilings of the warehouse and only constrained by semi-permanent walls, the sound here has always been really good.

Parking is on the street around the venue, but has never been a problem.
One word of warning. The sign outside is pretty small for a big place, and is easily missed.

Overall a great place to watch some creative new music from innovative artists.
